Here's a quick ambigram to get you thinking. This ambigram is slighlty different than other ambigrams that you see. Most other ambigrams are the same word. But this is unique for the fact that it spells out a different word if you turn it upside down.
When you are making your own ambigrams, or as you are trying to learn how to make your own ambigrams, just play around with the outside letters. For example, once you like how the letter d can be turned into an s, use that to your advantage. Think of words that would use the d and the beginning of one word, and that end in an s. What makes it even easier to do is that the letter s can be added to many nouns to make them plural.
Also, while you are thining of words to use as your first ambigram, if you have an 'e' in the middle or even a 'm' that turns into a 'w' or a 'u' that turns into a 'n' it makes it incredibly easy to do the transition. For example, 'dog' could be relatively easy. Now you're on your way to becoming an ambigram master artist! Make sure you check out the funny ambigram.
It moves! You must zoom in to get the full illusion. You'll see the rings rotate, even though they are not moving at all.

Moving Red Spiral - 7/27/2011
Sometimes, while I'm just playing around in Photoshop, something appears, as if by magic. This illusion was one of those that just jumps off the page.
It's a large red spiral on a purple background that appears to jump and move. Works better for some people than others, but if you like the moving illusions, you'll love it!
